I Can Buy Myself Flowers…
I know Miley Cyrus’s Flowers is about a break up and I also have many of my own interpretations. I think that is the beauty of creativity. Whether you choose to go solo like in Miley’s song or decide to bring a friend along, doing things that are inspiring can help expand our own creativity and flow, plus it’s FUN. There is no right or wrong way in my book.
Before I share a list of ideas, here is an outing I took with a few friends to our local museum that just added an installation by Gabriel Dawe who I have been following for years on IG. Take a look at the rainbow magic. It’s like thousands of pieces of art in one. Each time you move, you get a completely different perspective along with the strings and colors becoming more vibrant or lighter. Feel free to take these images in for some inspiration.
Now onto some ideas for Creative and Inspirational dates! Julia Cameron, The Artist’s Way highly recommends going on “Artist Dates” and I agree.
Local museum, art galleries and shows
Grab a new book from the library
Take a cooking class
Go see a movie or theatrical production
Find a concert, local bands, etc to listen to
Listen to a concert (and now with youtube
Walk at the beach, park or hiking trails
Watch the clouds go by and notice if you see shapes, animals, etc.
My list could go on and on. What are some artist dates you want to try?
Happy Creating,
Jen
